Designed for children aged 4–8 years (maximum 45kg), this gentle 30-minute lead rein pony ride introduces little riders to the joy of horses in a safe, supportive and memorable environment. Led by our experienced team, children will ride one of our beautiful, child-specific Welsh ponies along the groomed estate trails of Priory Rose Estate, surrounded by Glenorchy's breathtaking alpine scenery.
As a boutique equestrian estate, we believe in quality over quantity. Our small group rides allow every child to receive individual attention, helping them build confidence, develop a connection with their pony and create lasting memories at their own pace. Safety and horse welfare are at the heart of everything we do, with calm, well-trained ponies selected specifically for young riders taking their first steps into the equestrian world.
The Little Rosebud Ride is inspired by the floral heart of Priory Rose Estate. Named after the first bloom of a rose, this experience celebrates new beginnings and the excitement of discovering a lifelong love of horses. As our gardens flourish with vibrant flowers throughout spring and summer, every ride becomes part of the enchanting atmosphere that makes Priory Rose Estate so unique.
With panoramic mountain views, peaceful countryside and iconic Glenorchy landscapes providing the backdrop, parents will have plenty of opportunities to capture unforgettable photographs of their little rider's adventure.
For children who fall in love with riding, Priory Rose Estate also offers purpose-built equestrian facilities, creating opportunities to progress their riding skills through future lessons and equestrian experiences.

We provide helmets. Helmets are worn at all times when riding a horse.

Check-in: Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled ride departure. Group treks depart promptly at the scheduled time, and unfortunately, late arrivals cannot be accommodated or refunded.

Image use for marketing purposes: we may capture and use photos or videos taken during your session for marketing, promotional materials, and social media. Your privacy is important to us, if you are uncomfortable with your images being used, please let us know, and we will gladly respect your preference.

Maximum weight: 45 kg. The wellbeing of our horses is always our priority. At check-in, guests may be weighed and will then be matched with the horse best suited to their weight and riding ability. For the safety and welfare of our horses, riders over the 45 kg limit cannot participate in the ride. Unfortunately, refunds cannot be provided in these circumstances.
