Experience the breathtaking beauty of Glenorchy on our relaxed Calm Lotus one-hour trail ride, designed especially for first-time riders, families, and those looking to build confidence in the saddle.

Set at a comfortable walking pace, this gentle trek follows our exclusive, professionally groomed estate trails, offering uninterrupted views of Glenorchy's spectacular snow-capped mountains and pristine alpine landscapes. With no public traffic and a safe, controlled environment, you can simply relax, take in the scenery, and enjoy the unique experience of exploring on horseback. Ride past our peaceful grazing paddocks, where horses roam freely across the countryside, and enjoy plenty of opportunities to capture unforgettable photos with your horse set against Glenorchy's breathtaking, world-renowned mountain scenery.

Our friendly, experienced guides are with you every step of the way, ensuring you feel comfortable, supported, and confident throughout your ride. Whether it's your very first time on a horse or you're returning after years away, this trek is the perfect introduction to horseback riding in one of New Zealand's most iconic landscapes.

What to Bring:


Please dress to the weather conditions and temperature. 

  • Long comfortable pants, suitable closed footwear (no large heels, crocs or sandals permitted).

  • A phone or small camera is recommended to capture your memories (your responsibility). 

 

More Information:

  • We provide helmets. Helmets are worn at all times when riding a horse. 

  • Check-in: Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled ride departure. Group treks depart promptly at the scheduled time, and unfortunately, late arrivals cannot be accommodated or refunded.

  • Image use for marketing purposes: we may capture and use photos or videos taken during your session for marketing, promotional materials, and social media. Your privacy is important to us, if you are uncomfortable with your images being used, please let us know and we will gladly respect your preference.

Cancellations policy: 

  • Cancellations online rescheduling up to 72 hours prior • 48hrs - 7days cancellation prior to booking date 50% refund • NO refund 48hrs before booking.

 

Restrictions:

  • Min age 7 years old. All children 10 years old and under must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

  • Maximum weight: 95 kg. The wellbeing of our horses is always our priority. At check-in, guests may be weighed and will then be matched with the horse best suited to their weight and riding ability. For the safety and welfare of our horses, riders over the 95 kg limit cannot participate in the ride. Unfortunately, refunds cannot be provided in these circumstances.
